Needless to say, Mayella jumped back, practically falling over. She regathered herself before responding, perhaps a bit too scornfully, “You must be a sort of demon; crawling into a girl’s bedroom and attempting to seduce her! And appearing out of thin air, nonetheless!” She crossed her arms again and turned her head away. She could still feel the warmth that burned her cheeks, despite her annoyance.
he smirked, “i wasn’t trying to seduce you, i was just simply teasing you. and is that your final guess mayella? that im a demon?” he grinned showing his fangs once more.
She huffed and rolled her eyes, “Alois, I am growing very tired of this game. Yes, that is my final answer.” She paused a moment before adding, “And teasing could be just as bad. It’s still horribly mean of you.” She uncrossed her arms and turned to face the boy once again, awaiting his response.
he grinned, ”you finally got the riddle… im surprised it took you this long to figure it out, mayella.”
She stood for a moment, letting his response sink in, then her eyes widened, “Wait…is that why you’re here? Is that why you started speaking to me in the first place?” Mayella was suddenly defensive, and obviously had something to hide. Her eyes narrowed as she asked, “Are demons able to find other demons just by looking at them?”
his eyes widened, “wait, mayella are you saying your a demon as well?!” he didn’t know what was going on. ‘was there some sort of sign, telling me she is a demon and i missed it?!…… what the bloody hell is going on!?’ he thought.
She seemed to relax a bit, “Oh no, I’m not.” She sighed and gave a small smile, “At least not yet. You frightened me, I thought you had caught on.”
